How to decide what language to learn and how to stick at it...?

After 2 years of buying various language courses and dabling in various languages, usually giving up after a couple of months; I have got nowhere. I start learning a new language on impulse, only to get bored at give up after a couple of months.

I really would like to be able to speak another language yet I just don't seem to have the motivation stick with one language for at least a year.

Can anyone offer me any advice on how to decide what to learn, and more importantly, how to stick with it?
