Go into this website they have free translation just type whatever you want and scroll down the arrow key from english to Italian and it will give you the free translation of whatever you want to know. I know it helped me alot when wanting to do a letter for something at a certain languange and it translate it for you.

Are you sure you want to learn Italian? It's terribly though! Difficult grammar, above all. it would be easier ifyou could learn it by speaking. But studying it on your own... good luck!

For example you can use youtube, learn music is a very nice way to start. Do you know any Italian singer? listen hie/her music and later translate it online.
Also, you can go to yahoo answers in italian, you just have to drag it doown and clic on the flag of Italy.
I can indicate some sigers that I like: Gianna Naninne, Eros ramazzotti, Tiziano Ferro...

Good Lucky!

Ouch, to tell you the truth, I've looked for similar things for Korean (try finding that in an American school), and really, you can't do it. You may be able to find the very straight basics, but there's no guarantee it's correct.

My advice: with everything going against you, you may want to try a pen pal. Kinda lame, but it'll be someone who knows the language (so it's accurate info).

Try http://italian.about.com/. I used their site for French and they're actually pretty decent about giving you language resources and daily emailed lessons, that kind of thing. May be the same with Italian, and it's SOMETHING, at least until you can find a way to take an actual class (which is what I recommend, but I know it's not always possible, as in your case).

psst. look for italian movies and watch until your eyes fall out!
