Will taking two languages leave a good impression on colleges?

I am already taking Spanish and am thinking of taking on another language in addition. Will this show colleges that I have commitment and am serious? Is it a good idea if I can handle it?

It all depends on what you would like to study in college. Taking another language like Latin will help you out if you plan on studying law or medicine, since most of the terms come from Latin. It also helps out on the vocabulary section of the SAT's.

It will also look good to take another language if you would like to go into international relations, teaching of foreign languages, or business.

If you're not going to study any of the above majors (or something of the like) I recommend taking a year to study abroad in a Spanish-speaking country. Schools will be much more impressed if you're fluent as opposed to being well versed in two languages.
