Where do the French,Spanish,Italian words 'le,la,el,il come from? The

Languages English is not the only language. It is a big world where other languages are only spoken.

Where do the French,Spanish,Italian words 'le,la,el,il come from? The

similarity of the words suggests that they came from the same root,but,although the three languages are Latin based,the words didn't come from Latin as Latin didn't use the word 'the'.
