| What is the term in spoken language analysis used when a person says for example... ..."he's such a better shooter" and by that I mean the speaker hesitates "he's such a..." and changes his structure "better shooter." What he meant to say was "he's such a good shooter" but hesitates and says "he's such a better shooter", which is grammatically wrong. Is it a grammatical splice or something, or there is no term for that? If there are any linguists out there I'd appreciate the help (and by terms I mean spoken language features like, hedging, tag questions, ellipsis etc.) It's hard to explain as english is not my first language but i'm taking a spoken language course in college and i'm analyzing a transcript from a basketball commentator (so if you thought I was talking about a murderer than no, lol). |
