How do you say "no matter what" in french, as in "true friends are the ones you can depend on no matter what [happens]" ???

"Quoi qu'il arrive" or "Quelque soit la situation"

Les vrais amis sont ceux sur qui l'on peut compter quoi qu'il arrive/quelle que soit la situation
