| Would a non-native English speaker have a chance at a job in
English-language publishing in the US? My girlfriend is Korean, and works as an editor on English-language materials in Korea. If you were to hear her speak, you might not realize she's a native speaker (but she has a mental defect where her speaking skill doesn't transfer to her writing...we're working on that), but the fact remains, she isn't one. Would she be likely, with a couple of years experience in Korea behind her, to be able to find work as an editor in the United States? |
