Languages English is not the only language. It is a big world where other languages are only spoken.

Do you believe Americans tend to butcher other languages?

I am a Japanese-American, and I noticed that lots of people tend to not say Japanese words properly, such as "karaoke" and "kamikaze". Can anybody tell me why Americans destroy some words? How did "carry-okey" come from "karaoke", and "kama-kazee" from "kamikaze"?
