Japanese straightening?

i have really unmanageable curly hair and my friend told me to get the japanese straightening? Is it really bad for the hair, or is it a good idea?

get a CHI straightener! it costs like $100-$200 but it does wonders to your hair! I have one for about a year and it works like i just got it. the person that does my hair keeps hers on like all day and shes had it for ten years and she uses it like its brand new. it really helped my unrully damaged hair and I'm sure it will do wonders to yours.

It's not horrible, but your hair does tend to dry out after you've done it a few times. :\ i would just get a classic straightener and get my hair blown out ocasionally.

Depends on the hair dresser, I guess.
I did it..and I now have about 50% less hair than I used to...IT FELL OUT! and now I have these frickn short chunks of hair in the front and back and everywhere......it was great for the first week or two, but I guess I had a crappy hair dresser, cause I read around and people have had great experiences. It's also expensive to boot. And it's not a permanent solution..it lasts for about 4 months and then you gotta keep getting touch ups and stuff...
If it wasn't for my hair falling out then it would've been great..but it did fall out..so just a warning make sure you pick a good hair dresser. Do your research on them...and be prepared to pay handsomely....and oh, yeah the best part! prepare to spend hours upon hours at the salon getting your head fried.
