Why don't restaurants in California serve French dressing?

It's also hard to find in the grocery store. It's always that creamy French not real.

"French dressing " is an American MARKETING term you won't find the French using that term which they call Russian Dressing... Better stores carry dressings labeled both ways. Cal. has Whole Food and Trader Joes stores. Get out of Safeway theres a whole new world out there...I live in Seattle and we are such outspoken foodies that all stores have a lot of quality brands...

It's probably just a popularity thing. I find that most seem to choose Ranch Style & Bleu Cheese Dressing over everything. French Dressing might not be the best seller in the marketplace. So, that being the case, shelving space is at a premium ($$$) and grocers want to sell productlines that move. Here's a recipe to make it should you get in a pinch.

"Sweet French Dressing"
Ingredients
1/4 cup vinegar
1/2 cup oil
3/4 cup powdered sugar
3 tablespoons ketchup
salt and pepper

Directions:
1. Put all together in blender and pulse until smooth.
2. Refrigerate
