| how can i overcome a language barrier with my boyfriend's parents?
my boyfriend is albanian and he and his family speaks albanian and an uncommon dialect of greek. when i go over to the house, it is funny, and a little uncomfortable when we try to communicate with hand signals. my boyfriend usually translates, but sometimes, it's just not quick enough. i am learning as much albanian as i can, but i don't even know where to start with the greek dialect. has anyone ever had to overcome a language barrier like this? how did you do it?
