Languages English is not the only language. It is a big world where other languages are only spoken.

What's a good northwestern european language to learn?

I really like the Northwestern European languages (Welsh, Gaelic, Scots, etc.) and I want to learn one, but the more I learn about them, the more I realize how most of the people speak English anyway.

So what I want to know is if there are any languages like this that wouldn't be so pointless to learn. Anyone?
