Legal for company to require me to save vacation time for mandatory plant shutdown?

Is it legal for my company to force me to save 32 hours of vacation time for a mandatory plant shut-down? I live in Kentucky, by the way. Thanks!

No it's not but if the impending plant shutdown is close enough the company can deny your request for your vacation days until the plant is shut down. My company kind of did that to me, they denied my vacation 3 times when I requested it, but when I mentioned a lawyer they bought my vacation from me.

Absolutely not. But they can choose not to pay you during the furlough (shutdown). You can use vacation and get paid, or not use vacation and not get paid. Your choice.
