suga UK has a spectacular aura about
how is it legal that they can sell these in UK?

Two of my nintendo chargers have blown up and from the answers I've recieved on here it looks like its a voltage problem cos apparently my console is American and the warranty is void. I got it from a mobile phone company free with a contract phone. My friend also has one the same she bought it off PLAY.COM. Now if these are not intended for UK usage why are they allowed to sell them here? Is there a legal case here or what? What can we do?

If you are stupid enough to plug a device rated for 110 volts into a 240 volt supply it's hardly suprising that the thing burns up.

As you have a contract with the phone company they have acted illegally. Any electrical goods must conform to British standards. Go back and get one that does work from them.

Speak to your local consumer watchdog. That sounds wrong to me.

That is not only stupid but dangerous. Report them to the office of fair trading and to any other watchdog you can think of. If they've promised you something free and it doesn't work that's one thing, but to give you something downright dangerous is quite another.

Complain to nintendo, your friend bought the product from someone and should have read the specifications of the product before purchase, in fact, so should you have when buying your phone, however when buying a phone the seller will usually try and get the cheapest version available to you.

Contact the trading standards section in your local council, they will investigate this. That's really dangerous and they shouldn't be sold here.
