| Is INCREDIBLY noisy construction legal in a residential neighborhood?
In the past month, construction has begun to demolish a house and reconstruct a new set of townhouses in its place. However, this is being done in a small residential neighborhood in Beaverton, Oregon, across the street from my bedroom window, basically making my life miserable. Every morning, I am awoken at 7 AM with the sounds of banging and jackhammering. This noise is continued NON-STOP until about 4 PM. The noise sounds like someone is banging on my bedroom window with all their might. This cannot be drowned out by music or headphones (which I try every day) because of the bass of the noise, which feels like it is bounding on my temples. I have been developing migraines at least twice a week.
Is this construction/construction noise legal? Aren't the workers supposed to clear it with the city that the neighborhood permits this noise?
What can I do?
Thank you for your input!
