Legal advice for abuse of power?

Hello, I am writing about this as I was sent out for a mistunderstanding from a university lecture, which I will most likely talk to the lecturer about afterwards. In essence he made a joke about there being no seats and I said "I know - it is packed" but he couldnt hear me and so I said "forget about it".

He asked for my student number and advisor. In these circumstances he can potentially ban me from going to lectures and in worst case situations cancel my module and this could ruin this year (and potentially last year - if i were to be expelled) wasting £3070-6070 (last years tuition was £3000 this year was £3070).

In these circumstances by banning me from being in the university over something i don't believe he would be allowed to - this must be an abuse of power. Can I have any ideas on what to do about this please

Use him as an ally. Get to know him. It's not what you know it's who you know.

My guess is that there is probably more to this than you're letting on, otherwise you wouldn't be worried. It seems that you shouted out something in a lecture and, when he didn't respond, you said, "forget about it." So, I'd suggest you just wait and see what happens. You could consider apologising to the lecturer but that might make matters worse. It seems inconceivable that you would be expelled over an isolated incident of disrespect, that's why I think that there's more to this.
