Rover has a spectacular aura about
Which shark species are protected by law?

Friend of mine has a dream of being a shark hunter- that is, trophy killing and hunting for sport or by contract. Are there any sharks you can openly hunt- and if so, does this apply to anywhere in the world? I mean the big ones, not toe-chewing three-footers.

Thanks!

PS, No, it isn't me, and yes, he's hardly likely to go ahead with it as he can't even swim, but I thought I'd humour him.

90,000,000 Sharks, Yes that's 90,000,000 killed every year for various reasons, caught on long lines, fins chopped off for shark fin soup and the rest simply discarded, nets and sport!
I'm not sure which ones are protected but I think we humans should "cut them some slack!" Unfortunately the toe chewing 3 footers don't live long enough to mature into big "Trophy" fish. Personally I think they should all be protected.
