Legal Issue- Dismissed Case?

I applied for a job and on the background check appeared a pending charge- a Class A misdemeanor. A month later, the DA dropped the case before I was arraigned, processed, booked, arrested, or fingerprinted. He dismissed the case because of a lack of evidence. My question is-- will the charge still show up on a background check if the case was dropped before I was arrested or fingerprinted???? Even my lawyer is having a hard time with this one. PLEASE HELP.
