Do you think laws take common sense away from people?

Obviously without laws the world just wouldn't function properly, but do you think it's taking away commons sense? An example is when a mother gives their 10 year old a sip of beer. There are actualy parents out there that would not give their child any exposure to drinks until their 18. Or like when people say something's wrong people it's illegal without considering the whole situation. (not murder, just day to day things that people may do.) It's funny cause i'm 18 now, and don't drink, but my parents would not hesitate or feel "bad" to let me have a sip of something, I just wasn't allowed to buy it. Then there are other 18 year olds that get drunk, and I just don't get it. I've just seen some people in this world who honestly beleive that everything that is illegal most be morally wrong, and that everything legal is morally right. I guess it's just media doing it's thing, but what do you think?
