at what age are you fully a "legal" adult? (In the United States)?

at what age are you fully a "legal" adult? (In the United States)?

I am just curious. Some people say 18, some say 21 bc you can legally drink and gamble, and some even say 25 (!) b/c you can rent a car then.
Darren G: yes old enough to serve in the military but as a friend once said to me when I was 18, "not old enough to party legally with alcohol".
