March 10, 2008: Please be advised that we are not taking in puppies or dogs at this time due to PARVOVIRUS that was given to us by a small group of "back yard breeders who claim they are rescuers". The "rescue" has given 3 different, legitimate rescues Parvo during the past several months, and they continue taking in unvaccinated dogs and puppies. Some of these dogs and puppies they are actually taking in from other breeders and shelters. I personally witnessed today the "rescuer" picking a puppy up from another person that met her in a parking lot to give her the pup. Another puppy exposed to Parvo, and I'm sure she will try to pawn it off on another rescue as soon as it starts showing symptoms. This is what I see happening as it is exactly what has been happening for quite a while now. The name of the "rescue" is "Furry Animal Rescue" and their myspace address is http://www.myspace.com/thumperbrandy They have several listings on www.craigslist.com and use addresses in Proctorville, Scottown, Chesapeake, and Huntington. This same "rescue" had a white female Spitz (they listed as a Pom) that they spent $15.00 on from the Boyd County Animal Control in Ashland, KY. She was listed on Petfinder under the Free listing Adoptable Pets (Not in Shelters). The "rescue" was asking $75.00 for her with no vetting done. Please use some common sense when adopting. This stated "rescue" does not care for the well-being of any of their "rescued animals". They care for the money they can make on the animals, nothing more. If they truly cared, they would not be exposing puppies to the Parvo, which on their own website, they state that it is there and have had several pups die from it already, not including the ones that were taken into other rescues. And if you look through their pictures at the dates they were taken, you will see the true nature of the so called "Rescue". Thank you for reading this. I hope it helps keep this "rescue" from getting any more healthy pups. Oh yes, and by the way, the Boyd County Animal Control had been notified about their scamming, lies, and spread of Parvo, and upon proof of her listings and various testament from the other reputable rescues that have had to deal with the stupidity of the stated "rescues" actions, I do not think they will be able to adopt or pull any more animals from them...Thank You for caring....Pass the news on.
