What is my legal position? A steel supplier has mistakenly dropped off a

large amount of steel outside my? empty workshop when no-one was there. The steel was ordered by another firm and delivered to my workshop by mistake. The steel is in a badly lit road used by pedestrians and cars so it is quite a hazard. I have been on the phone to the suppliers all afternoon but they can't pick it up till Monday.
I offered to splash a bit of silver paint all over the steel to try and make it more visible in the dark, but it won't really help much. They said to do that and I did.

Now I am wondering whether, if, someone does become a cropper, could I be sucked into any legal claim.
Have i somehow accepted responsibil;ity and liability because I put some silver paint on it trying maybe unsucessfully to make the pile of steel more visible in the dark?
