I was just hired but they never had me fill out any W-2 forms, is this legal?

I was just hired on the spot two weeks ago for a small wholesale business and i gave them basic information about me, but they never had me fill out any W-2 forms or an I-9 form. I will ask about it on Monday, but is this legal? Should I be concerned about this employer?

Thanks in advance for any advice!
