Soon to be mother in law HATES me....?

I have been with my boyfriend for many many years & his mother HATES me. I sure if she could get away with killing me she would! I have never really figured out why. I have taken great care of her son. I love him with all my heart, never cheated. I dont know if is cause I am white and he is black, even thou many of his family members date white girl! We plan on getting married soon but its hard cause I dont want to go to family get togethers. I also plan on having a kid with his man and I dont want her to bad mouth me or hate my child. How do you deal with this. I have tried to change her views of me but like I said I dont even know why she feels this way!
