I'am planinng to join the millitary after high school i was wondering...

what if i was just looking to be in the infantry?

The Marines are the best fighting force in the world. It's also harder to become and remain a Marine. But, if you want to be in battle with the best, you want to be in battle with the Marines.

It all depends on how you feel about combat vs. an intellectual job. If you like the idea of combat join the Marines. If you want to be trained on computers or mechanics, or whatever, then join the U.S. Air Force. It is the easiest service of the four and will prepare you for a job when you get out.

Depends on what you want to be. A marine is a seaborne grunt serving the same purpose as a an Army leg. They are not elite forces in their own right, however they do have elite groups such as their Force Recon and their F/O's are Airborne.

The Army on the other hand have every possible end of the spectrum covered, with Airborne, Ranger, Special Forces and a couple of others that are seldom spoken.

First consideration though. Do your really want to swap the Navy guy's Poop deck?
