| Online college is VERY difficult to manage. You really would be better off taking part time classes at a real college. Your CO will probably be in favor of it, provided that you are not scheduled for deployment before your semester would be over. Talk to the recruiter about it and get any and all promises in writing on your enlistment contract. As for marriage, your on your own on that one. I'll just say that 19 is a little young and a military life is not a good one for the left-behind spouse. |

| I want, I want, I want... Good god. I want you to go see a damn recruiter. Jesus. (Answer below, read on) Being married in the military is challenging. Especially now, with the increased operations tempo. There are hundreds of colleges that the military deals with that are online, so you can take college, and get/finish your degree. | Hey, My husband is 19, i am 20 years old, we are married for almost one and a half years and he is in the MC for 2 years now... here is the truth: Married life is hard, no question, but really not that bad, if you get married while in the marine corps, you will ger roughly double the amount of your pay as a single marine (to support your wife), also BAH (Housing money) you can either apply to live on base (after basic training and combat training, when you are send to a base) with your wife, or get an apartment on your own out in town (my husband and I are stationed in jacksonville, nc, and living out in town is better here). Deployments are rough, I just had the first, my husband was gone for 7 months to iraq, but care packages from me to him and eventual phone calls from him to me made it alright In my opinion, if your future wife loves you, and KNOWS, i mean really understand, that during the 3 months of basic training and the month of combat training, and the normal military life and the deployments wont see you much, you will be ok, right now, the all day military life is ok, my husband goes to work at 6 am, and is back home at about 6 to 7pm, sometimes later, i am working as well, so its not bad at all... Deployments is the toughest thing, but definitely not that bad... Also remember, when you buy a car, if you do get married, get a base sticker for the car, and your wife needs a dependent ID to be able to use your health care and get on base on her own... About college, Phoenix edu has a really good program hope this answers your questions |
