Can I get out of the Marine Corps Delayed Enlistment Program?

Very soon I will be taking my oath and swear myself into the Marine Corps. A friend of mine, currently in the Navy, had said that there are ways of dropping out of the DEP. I do not wish to drop out, but my parents and I would like to know the facts.

*Is there any way that I could officially find out the answer?*

I have heard that recruiters can give the "run-around" to people and also do not like future enlistees to know about being able to drop out of the DEP. My recruiter told me that there is no way out of the contract and I do trust him, but I would also like to find out for myself. Anyone know of a way I could find out for sure? I do not always know how reliable some of these sites are online.
