If you want to be commissioned as an non infantry officer, you will have to go through OCS, TBS and then your specialty school. You will start out as a 2nd Lt once you graduate from OCS.

Warrant Officers are usually good in a particular MOS field. Enlisted Marines would apply to become a warrant officer as a Sgt or above and go through the program to become one. In addition to commanding a unit, they are technical experts in a field. They are out ranked by commisioned officers.

First you need to pass basic training, officer basic, and all the military courses, then you become a second Lt. I don't think the marines put a lot of stock in giving away rank

In the Marine Corps you have to earn the right to be an officer, you just don't get to be an officer because you went to college.
