in marine boot camp, the killhat, the stresswor drill instructor, should be

eliminated because of the changes. of warfare and the intellect of todays recruits. drill instructors should only instruct recruits on the ways of warfare and teach them in a classroom type setting. how can one concentrate on being a fighting man if some killhat locks everyones locks together and gives them 30 seconds to unlock them. what that teaches? what benefit for a future warrior when some killhat drill instructor is tearing down everyones rack and gives them 30 seconds to make their rack back up? how do that makes a future warrior?do constantly getting screamed at and playing mind games help? be serious people

Stress is part of being a soldier! Why should these new soldiers have it so easy? All you'd do is make them too soft. It's not summer camp

please dear God tell me that you are not a Marine...if you are, please tell me that you graduated from the Parris Island!!! If you are being dead serious, u are retarted...the "HEAVY"...not killhat...is the main reason that recruits learn to respect their Drill Instructors / the Marine Corps should never, ever, ever change their standards...they make Marines, not college students...that's done at OCS!!!!

Of course it helps. You think boot camp is a mind game? Combat and warfare is the real mind game. The DI's just give you a taste of what it's like to work under stress.

The head games help build team work and attention to detail. Are children that go into boot camp are fatter less disciplined and lazy than all previos generations. If you do not break them down in boot camp they will break down in cobay and they, or someone in their unit will die. Our training is too soft as it is. We dont need to coddle these kids anymore than has allready been done.

Yes. It psychologically tears down the recruit, makes them give up their own selfishness, and makes them into respectful, TOUGH soldiers.
