| I have 15 college credits and they said im going to get promoted, But?...(Marine Corps)? I have 15 college credits from a community college...and when i went to MEPS they told me that i cant get promoted because i have 15 college credits... but how come my recruiter never told me about this?? And even when i told him about this after MEPS he kinds shrugged it off and said they got to be "real" college credits... And then he said that we will get my transcripts and see and hell do it... Im supposed to ship to boot camp in about 2 months...When should the promotion have happened? The Marines at MEPS told me 15 college credits to get promoted... and when i was at college these Army recruiters were passing out papers and in the papers it said something about 15 college credits also... but im not to sure... |

| Advanced enlistment rank for college credit is different in each service. Marines - E-2 for sucessfully completing 12 semester hours with a QPA of atleast 2.3, also must have completed 10th grade in High School. Army - E-2 for successfully completed 24 or more classroom semester hours E-3 for successfully completed 48 or more classroom semester hours E-4 for BS degree. Navy - E-2 for successfully completed 24 or more classroom semester hours E-3 for successfully completed 48 or more classroom semester hours Air Force - E-2 for satisfactorily completed 20 semester hours E-3 for satisfactorily completed 45 semester hours Coast Guard - E-2 for 30 semester hours But you also must have a college transcript, they aren't gonna take your word for it. Its your job to get your college transcripts. Your advanced rank starts the day you graduate Basic/Boot Training.
