Who makes a better Soldier, US Marine OR Australian Commando ?

After my experiences working on a Military Base in Sydney (Holsworthy). I witnessed the gruelling testing and training regimes the Australian 4RAR Commandos were put through, prior to being relocated to Darwin, as an Defensive tactic against the hostile North. I witnessed Companies of US Marines, both great Soldiers, but constantly and vastly out sourced and out matched by both 4RAR Commandos, 3RAR Para. Theres ABSOLUTELY NO COMPARISON with Australian SAS. However given 4RAR Commandos are infact the basis of the "Special Operations Task Group" in Afghanistan, does this fact alone mean Australian Commandos are far Superior to US Marines ? What do you think ?

Both of them are dedicated soldiers, who do impossible tasks to defend the Free World. It is almost impossible the compare that which one of the two excellent groups is better. I believe that the difference is only "cat's whiskers" between them.

US Marines as a branch are not a Special Ops unit like the Australian Commandos (4RAR.) And not every Marine unit is part of a Special Op. Task Group like Commandos and Paratroopers. There are some units within the Marine Corps that are Special Ops capable, and are part of US SOCOM. Plus the missions of the two services are very different in terms of their purpose. I'm not going to fight and argue about which branch is better.

Well during WW II there wasn't any argument when
the US Marines landed in Australia to save your Butts..
now was there...???

If you call a US Marine a Soldier you are
just liable to get your Butt Kicked...

As a Marine I served alongside some
Aussie Troops in Vietnam..
They were True Professionals...
As are Most Military Outfits that
FIGHT FOR FREEDOM of others...

Please never refer to Marines as Soldiers.. they're Marines. As far as who are better... well, I think more people know about the power of the United States Marine Corps.. as opposed to a specific branch of something in Australia. All who defend America should be respected; however bottom line when across the globe someone hears that the Marines are coming.. there is a sigh of relief from those in peril as well as the enemy whereas if someone told me that the 4RAR Commandos were coming or the Australian SAS were coming.. I'd have to go look up who they were before I would know whether to feel secure or not, worldwide, when someone hears that the Marines are coming.. there's no question.. that the day will be saved.
