| army infantry? If you're Army infantry, you'll get the opportunity to rescue Marines. Just kidding. As long as you master your skill level in your MOS, are in top physical and mental shape, you'll have a good chance of getting in to a Ranger Training Unit (Battalion), thus a shot at Ranger school. Many more Army soldiers have been in combat than Marines. |

| army infantry? To answer your specific question about do Army and Marines get into equal amounts of combat; Thats difficult to answer as the numbers of one service so outweighs the numbers of the other. That being said:Casualties:Army-2388Army Guard-439Army Reserve-130Marines-857Marine Reserve-129Marine IRR-1http://icasualties.org/oif/USDeathsByService.aspxI think you can see, based on raw statistics, they both see the brunt of military fighting in Iraq/Afghanistan. So far as Infantry, just pick the service you think you like better. For the most part, light infantry is light infantry, unless you start getting into specialized groups such as Ranger, or Marine Force Recon etc. |
