Off the top of my head, I know that Gene Tunney was a Marine. Kenny Norton was in one of the military branches.

Ken Norton and Leon Spinks were former American Marines who fought and held the Championship.Ken Norton was made a Champion without actually beating anyone for the title and duly lost it to Larry Holmes.Leon Spinks beat Muhammad Ali for the World Heavyweight Championship. Englishman Richard Dunn who fought Ali for the title was a Marine Commando.
