Joining The Marines.. a decision that will hurt.?

I just finished High school, and I applied for a college, and got in, tomorrow is the due date to pay for admission fee, but I'm not going to pay for it, and instead try and get into the U.S.M.C.

I've told my parents that I want to join the Marines, and they said No way, their not going to let me do it. I understand how my parents feel, but ultimately it's my decision. And for the past 3 months I have non-stopped thinking about it, and how bad I want to do it.

I'm almost afraid of what my parents will do if they figure out when I join. Although im 17 and have to wait till I'm 18 in september, it gives me time to get my green card.


Do you think I should go through with it? Is it worth upsetting my parents? I just know when I come back from bootcamp my parents will be some what proud. And if I continue with the Marines I will feel like I've accomplished something in my life that many people haven't. I will feel like I am somebody.. and will be able to get on with my life.
