This one's for Army, Navy, and Marine Corps members, past or present?

My office has been getting questions about charitable donations that would help military members from all branches of the service. The Air Force has a non-profit organization called the Air Force Aid Society that gives interest-free loans and grants to Air Force members who are dealing with financial hardships or family emergencies. Do the other branches of the service have similar organizations? Input from people in other branches of the service is appreciated...

They are called the Family Assistance Centers. They help soldiers and their families anyway they can, with couseling, helping write a resume, job hunting, financially or with emergencies like a lady I was in an FRG with who's husband was in Iraq and her car broke down. She has 3 kids and had no money for the repairs (it needed a complete overhaul under the hood) and they paid for her to get a new car. If you're looking to donate, that would be a good place to start. They also have areas that help families of fallen soldiers. But if you type in Family Assistance Centers or FAC with your state it should bring a bunch of them up.

Thumbs up Re: This one's for Army, Navy, and Marine Corps members, past or present?

The American Legion, DAV-Disabled American Veterans, VFW comes to mind, Paralized American Veterans is a good one. Get with a local chapter from your area or do a search online but watch out for the ones that only give a small percentage of donations to charity and the rest goes in their pockets. Personally I like the Red Cross, each branch of the Military has their own Aid Societies.....
