Hello Michael:

Go to the USAFA website and take a look around. Under the admissions area, click on "What Home school Students need to have." This will give you a better understanding.

You will need a nomination from your Congressional Representative, or Vice President. If your mother or father holds the Medal of Honor, you have a free pass.

A foreign language will help. If you study Arabic, Farsi, or Chinese; your application will go on the top of the pile.

To be a pilot, you need to have excellent health, and perfect uncorrected vision.

To get an idea of what the lifestyle is like, join a Jr. AFROTC program. You will study military history, first aid, leadership, drill & ceremonies and the mission of the Air Force in national defense.

Best of luck!
