switch from army to navy?

hey, im in the army. my wife is not a huge fan of that fact. i enjoy it, but she wanted me to check out other services...and to see what they are all about. ive chosen to ask people on here, because i have learned not to ask anything to a recruiter if you want real answers. just to entertain my wife's thoughts, i have read other things here....some say yes and no, truly though, what is FACT, can i switch branches before fulfilling initial contract with the army...can i finish out my contract with another branch, even to extend the contract or to deploy?

Yes. You can switch from the Army to the Navy BUT you would have to be in a 'high-value' MOS, and generally, would have to be of NCO rank or above.

Be aware that the paperwork for this is huge, and the transfer doesn't happen overnight.

Good luck.

I am sorry to say but in my humble opinion I would never even concider the Navy. Stay in the Army and do your homework there are many jobs in the Army to choose from and you can always get cross trained in other M.O.S. No I am not a Army recruiter Just an ex Army Ranger that believes you should get trained in something that will help you in civilian life. The military is not a career job any more. Just my opinion.

The navy is cutting forces, thats why they have the navy to army program right now, forget the real name of it. I doubt you will get into the Navy.
