If the question is "Could they transfer you into the Army?"; The anser is No! You joined the Navy. If the Question is "Could they transfer you into a Combat Role in the Navy?"; The Answer is Yes. You Enlisted to defend the USA and it's Constitution. And with that comes the Needs of the Defense Department and if they needed you to hand you a Rifle. Then that is your job. A lot of people should know that everyone's secondary MOS comes with a Rifle. You might of joined as a cook, but if they need you with a rifle, you will get a rifle. Under normal circumstances, we already have personnel that have joined and filled the ranks and different MOS's that cover all Combat MOS's. It's not unusual under emergency situations that you might have to defend yourself, your unit under a combat role. After all that's why you are trained to shoot. This is a gray area but it's not unheard of that support units have to defend themselves and do get shot at and bombed.
