My boyfriend is in the marines & in the hospital. Can i visit him when his...

...parents go? Do they check id's? He injured his knee a while back on a obstacle course and is just now having surgery. The sgt. said immediate family could visit but i really wanted to go but i dont want to risk getting him in any kind of trouble. So i was just curious to know if they are strict about checking id's before i go and get him in any trouble.
