| Strange question about Marine boot camp? I got a letter today from my RCT. what is IDT? it's some sort of punishment that the squad leaders had to do in the shower! I know IDT means inactive duty training, but what does that have to do with the shower?      |

| Was it IPT? IPT stood for Incentive Physical Training when I went to Boot Camp. IPT was pushups, squats, or any other excersize the Drill Instructors made us do for punishment. IDT is some form of punishment. Don't be too concerned, it happens to every recruit and within a few weeks yours will be so used to it that he or she won't even complain.
