Why are Marines so proud and disrespectful towards other services?

Seriously, the people in the army, air force, and navy work just as hard; so I think its really disgusting how Marines try to discredit everyone else, and pretend that they are 'better'. Frankly, I think the marines should be kicked off the JCS, and subordinated to the navy.
Lol, the guy below said, "If you served, you'd understand." Spare me the BS, k? There are plenty of people in the military who think inter-service rivalry is naive, counter-productive, inefficient, immature, and ultimately a threat to national security. In my opinion, we should get rid of the independent branches entirely, and subordinate everything to the infantry.
Point 2, re below: What is up with the Brit guy below who is all like "I don't have any respect for anyone in the rear echelon." Like, seriously, wtf, maybe you'd like to sit and inventory a million tons of supplies by yourself?
