Seal has a spectacular aura about
Joining the Marines and I have a few questions...?

I'm 17 now, turning 18 in December. My plans after high school as of now are this; go to basic training right after I graduate, come back and go to college in Springfield while I do the reserves (degree in Psychology/Criminal Justice), and re-enlist after I graduate and do recon/S.E.R.E./Scout sniper training.

My main concern is I don't want to be deployed while I'm in college. Is there a way to make sure I won't?

Also, does anyone know how much you get paid for college?

I've been meaning to ask these to my recruiter but I never seem to have time with work and school, etc.
LAVADOG: I just don't want to go to Iraq while I'm in college...how is that a difficult concept? I'm going to pretty much live there after college but I would like it didn't interrupt my college.

I'm enlisting first to get bootcamp out of the way...and I don't want to wait after college and just become an officer just because of a degree.

Many people join the reserves just for the purpose of it getting them through college. My question is hard...there's no program that says "Ok, go to college and you'll be fine; we'll wait until after you graduate to ship you overseas"?
Trust me, I'm not going to be one of those people who say "I joined for the college money, I didn't think I'd have to go to war!".

In fact, if I do get deployed it will only give me more experience which will be handy down the road when I do my scout sniper training.

To be honest, I don't really care if I do or not...it's just more of a preference. So since that's all clear, what kind of financing do the Marines offer for college?
