Time is running out- Career in Auto sales, is this a good career choice?

I am a manufacturing manager and make good money, the problem is I am really burnt of and can not stand to go to work anymore. I have been offered an opportunity to sell cars. I would have a small base salary and the rest would be commission. I currently make 65k, is it realistic to expect to make this salary your first year in autosales? Would a career in auto sales be a wise choice with the economy in the shape it is in? Anyone have any advice for me? I am suppose to start my training this week.
