in marketing theory, is there ever a product that can not be sold?

in marketing theory, is there ever a product that can not be sold?

I am thinking about the marketing mix. If I have a physical product, can i definately sell it if i just adjust the other three p's. For example:
Product: ice, 1 kg
Price: $1
Place: North atlantic, eskimoes
Promotion: ?
This marketing mix doesn't sound promising, but if i export the ice to somewhere else..Can I assume that if I were to reach a different target group with the ice, that i could actually sell my product. For example if i were to sell my ice in the desert.

This may be a silly example, but is there anyone who has written about that? How important the physical product is in the marketing mix?
