How do Mass Market designers produce fashion?

I'm doing my senior project and this is the question I've decided to answer. What factors make up mass market fashion? what are the main positions? Anything that has to do with Mass Market Fashion is SO helpfull! And if anyone wants to do an Email sort of interveiw that would also be incredible!
