mindboggling has a spectacular aura about
Moving after divorce....need your help and advice....?

Friends, family and my financial adv have convinced me the best thing to do when my divorce settles is to stay put. My advisor put it best saying spend $1500 to stay in a furnished suite at Marriott and then accept your families offers to stay with them for 5 mos---reason---she said what you will want in six months will be very different from what you want right now. The money you save will be worth the $1500. I believe her since I have been with my husband since I was age 19 & never been on my own. I am married over 25 years....the logistics overwhelms me. In the last 3 mos my family of origin (foo) all moved out of state for job changes. My kids are near graduation from diff colleges and I can't even pick an area of the country where I should live. My ex is agreeable to leaving my half of the furniture here for six months....but I 'm not sure thats such a good idea. My work transports easily since I thought he would be retiring and I would be traveling with him.
Some of my stuff is already in storage in one brothers garage out of state. Some stuff is here in NY. Now I am looking at an apartment or possibly living with a different brother....I want to chuck the whole mess buy a small house and settle in...but where? closest to the youngest child? She is a capable 20 yr old with her own life. Closest to youngest neices--they are fun and sure are busy---I'm feeling so alone on the planet. I went from a very full house with two extra teens living here to empty nest, job change and now divorce.....so NO I dont know what would be good for me.... I liked my life taking care of and being involved with all of them.....I need a new definition and I dont have the money to make big mistakes..... how do you navigate this? What experience and ideas can you offer? Thanks much. I know I am not the first person to ever get divorced and still love the ex----but it doesnt make my pain and confusion any easier....

I am sorry for your loss. A divorce is quite like a death...and you will go through the same stages of grieving before you begin to heal. In my experience...making major decisions at this time is a mistake...so practice healthy procrastination. Put off major changes as long as possible. Your advisor has given you good advice. It is perfectly okay to ask for ALL the help you need while the wound is still fresh BUT do as much for yourself as you can. It will get easier. May I suggest that you join a gym or health club and use the membership to give yourself focus for your days as well as new acquaintances. Good luck and God Bless.

rent a 2 bedroom apartment or house close to ur job and work the lease out. Should be able to figure things out by then and then buy the house when you figure out what you want
