Second marriage new baby?

Hope someone has experience in this situation. My husband and I would like to try for a baby. It is his second marriage, we are very happy and things are great between us. He has a 10 year old son who we both think will benefit from a younger brother or sister.
My question is this. The ex wife is still bitter (although she left him). She still trys to make trouble and have some say in our lives by way of their son. I hope that this will get less and less as he gets older and we add to our family. I am worried that having a child will make things worse with her. Although we are both very happy with our decision and looking forward to this.
Anyone delt with this?
