Christians: Is a marriage ever not in God's will?

(Mark 10:9) Therefore what God yoked together let no man put apart. To make a long story very, very short...my husband out of the blue decided that he wants a divorce. We have been going through some things, nothing major, but some things nonetheless. To say I am heartbroken, confused, and angry would be the understatement of the year. Also, is it possible to try too hard to save your marriage? I don't want to feel like Im imposing on him. How can I know when I have done all I could do to try and save my marriage? Talking to him, is like talking to a wall! I get no respone from him, just a deaf ear. Also, he is deployed with the Air Force, and has been for 11 months now. He asked me for a divorce in March. I am very much involved in the church, and some of it's ministries. I'm not just an Easter and Christmas church goer. I read the word everyday, but the answers are just not coming to me. I just want to make sure I am doing the Christian thing.
