Question about Same-Sex Marriage in USA?

I am looking for ideas on this issue based on the following

Our most basic American law is based on Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
Nowhere in Constitution, the very framework of our government and laws, does it mention anything about marriage and other social customs.
ALL states in USA have laws saying govt cannot discriminate based on race, creed, color, gender or sexual orientation. (making any anti-gay marriage law illegal)
Marriage has always evolved thru the ages (inter-faith, inter-racial were once illegal, etc)
U.S. Supreme Court has already ruled that fundemental rights are not a votable issue, they rely on no elections (making any anti-gay marriage law illegal)

So based on these facts

How can U.S. say gays cannot marry? I can see that churches would not do the marriage and that is fine, but what reason based on American values of liberty+equality say gays cannot have a marriage by secular justice of peace?
blue316> See the point is that any law saying that is illegal because unconstitutional. Also you overlook that marriage was originally defined to allow for one man and multiple women...the concept was changed to one man-one woman.
So according to your logic there is no real marriages..since 1man-1woman would need a new word.
This has nothing to do with bible...but with legal standing and justice for all
