What will happen if I don't sign the final divorce decree?

It's the part where it says about the legitimate objects of matrimony being destroyed and their is no chance for the marriage to be preserved. I cannot sign that because I don't believe it. Does it matter, if you don't sign, whether you're the petitioner or respondent? Please don't answer if you're not sure. We live in a no fault divorce state.

I balked at that part too - that I had failed in my marital duties? Whatever! That is lame legal speak for justifying whatever they need to justify. Take your time looking over the other items of more importance. Then sign when you are good and ready. Don't get emotional and sidetracked from the truly important items.
